Game Funding in Zurich – A Brown Bag Q&A with the Zurich Film Fund
Getting a game funded is an essential parts of getting it made. But navigating the application process doesn't have to feel like a black box , when you can ask the people behind the fund directly.
The Zürcher Filmstiftung supports creative work in digital culture in the Canton of Zurich. And of course games fall squarely within the programme, currently running as a three-year pilot phase. The fund's focus is on development, production, and exploitation across all formats and genres, so there's real room here for interactive and games projects at different stages.
Over lunch, this casual session opens up how it all works. We can talk about what the fund supports and what it looks for, who's eligible to apply — production companies based in the canton, co-productions, international collaborations already possible in the development phase — and how the application process actually plays out. More importantly, this is a two-way conversation: bring your questions about eligibility, timelines, budgets, or anything else that's been on your mind — and share your feedback on how we can better support the games community here in Zurich.
No slides, no pitches. Just an open table, good questions, and an honest look at game funding in Switzerland.
